Current Clapotis Progress

I got my lazy butt to take a picture finally. The flourescent and desk lamp lighting doesn't do this yarn justice. The color looks very muted in the picture I took with my cell cam. I'm trying to be sly at work and get in some extra rows but the co-workers are bothering me.

I got to do two dropped stitch sections already. See it on the right side? I can't wait to finish this damn thing.

What happened to the Rowan Big Wool?

Remember a few posts back I had a teaser pic of the Rowan Big Wool in purple and beige colors? Well, they both resulted in this scarf pattern:

The pattern is from the LYS which was copied from a scarf a model was wearing in a Coach catalog. Yeah I know...it's not an actual "COACH" scarf pattern but I don't care...it looked damn good on the model. I had to make it.

This purple one was made specifically for my BBFF aka Muthafuka. I knew this is one of her fave colors. I can show it now since she confirmed this morning that she got it in the mail. It came out so warm and fluffy and was such a quick knit that once I finish with some other projects I'm going to head over to the LYS and purchase some more of this yarn and make one for myself before it starts getting warm again.

The beige one went to my other friend Stella. I made hers a little less narrow so that the scarf would come out longer. Unfortunately I totally forgot to take a picture of it before I gave it to her. I had to get it to her before she left for her trip. That girl is always freezing so I knew she'd need it. Right now Stella is somewhere in the middle of Europe wearing her fabulous scarf. I wish I was that scarf. :/ When she gets back I'll ask her to send me a pic of her wearing it.

I've totally dropped the ball on taking pictures of my projects. I was distracted by the Christmas rush. Ahem...I'll be waiting for your pic Muthafuka!

Clapotis update...

This is how far I got before I started to do my last minute scarf gifts. I love watching the colors change. I dunno...for some reason I like the color better on the skein than on the actual project. I'm actually much farther in the pattern now but I'm too lazy to take a picture. I'm past the increases of the pattern and I was able to do the first section of dropped stitches. It's kinda cool. Not sure when I'll continue this because I'm burned out on knitting for now. I've been such a blob the past month that I really need to get my ass to the gym instead of knitting all night after work and all weekend. HA! Who am I kidding? I'd take knitting over the gym any day!!!

It works!

My knitting blog is up and running again! I thought I lost it all too. Phew! Blogger has had some changes so I needed to republish the site. Once I get all my gift knitting done I'll finally post pics of everything that I've been making.

I churned out a scarf in two nights for a friend and I totally forgot to take a picture of it. Grrr. I think it turned out great and my friend was so impressed by my knitting that the reaction I got made me feel like all the effort was worth making the scarf. *grin* Here is a picture of the pattern I used:

...except imagine it in black, beige, chocolate and cinnamon stripes. It was a really easy and mindless knit. It was made with Karabella Aurora 8 yarn....very soft 100% Italian merino wool. I used size 13, 36-inch circular needles. I went to the yarn store again and decided to make a few more for other loved ones. Only 3 days till Xmas!!! I need to get a move on.

Clapotis

I finally found it! Noro Silk Garden #241...isn't it soooo pretty? I orignally wanted color #84, a red shade, but I settled for this purple/green color. It should look just as beautiful. What I'm going to make is the
Clapotis pattern...a scarf/shawl. I'm so excited to make it.

Last night I had a hell of a time trying to figure out how to start the pattern. Every blog I've read about it people have said this was an "easy and fun" knit. PSH! What!?!? After about 2 hours pondering what PFB , TBL, and PM was I gave up. I finally figured it out after some research online. I'm still unsure of what I'm doing as I go on but I think I'm OK. Here's my progress so far:

Can't wait to see what it'll look like as the color changes in the yarn. Wish me luck I don't mess this up.

B. I. G.

It's payday and you know what that means...a trip to the LYS. Hmmm....what am I going to make? Just wait and see.
