Wicked: Finished

Voila! My first sweater. Finished March 25, 2007.

This project was quite a learning experience. I'm pretty satisfied with it but also not totally loving the way it's fitting on me. It's definitely better than last time. The sleeves and the neckline didn't exactly turn out the way I wanted. They're huge!!!! I'm still a novice at this so I wasn't sure where I could've tweaked the pattern to make it work for my odd body shape. I probably would've used one less skein of yarn too.

I like it. I'll get a lot of use out of it when I attend the evening A's games. I'll be the one in the obnoxious green sweater.

Now on to my next project....fingerless gloves. In green of course.

Wicked: The second time around

Here it is...3/4 of the way done. It seems like it's fitting better. It doesn't feel big and baggy like last time. This sweater is meant to be a bit fitted.
I'm am just past the waist and on my 8th row of increase rounds. I really hope it'll fit over my hips by the time I'm done. I am determined to finish it up this weekend. I hope I can figure out how to finish up the sleeves. Time to get a move on so I can move on!

OHHH gotta make these!!!

I'm halfway through re-knitting Wicked. You bet I'll be working on smaller projects after I'm done, like these:

Aren't these darling? Instant gratification slippers is what I'll call them. The first time I saw the pattern I didn't think anything of it. Honestly, I didn't like it. After seeing so many different ways of making it I changed my mind. There's a smaller pattern for "wee" ones too. C-U-T-E !!!

I found this cami top in a japanese knitting site. I LOVE it but can't make it unless I find someone to translate the pattern for me. I don't even know where to begin buying the pattern. So sad this one won't be on my list. *pout*

Undone

Undone (The Sweater Song) by Weezer

"If you want to destroy my sweater

Hold this thread as I walk away
Watch me unravel, I'll soon be naked
Lying on the floor (lying on the floor)
I've come undone."

I just spent the last two hours unraveling Wicked into this:
*sigh*

Facing the truth

I'm going to frog my Wicked. There I said it. *ugh!!* WHY?

After trying it on numerous times over the weekend I was getting a bad feeling that it wasn't fitting like it should. It's a tad too big so I'm going to re-knit it a size smaller. Of course I just ordered 2 more skeins of yarn for it because I'm down to my last skein and still have 6 more inches of sweater to go before I get to the bottom. Also the sleeves and pocket aren't done either.

MAN!!! I knew I should've stopped as soon as tried it on. On the bright side, I'll feel better when I'm wearing a sweater that is the correct size and fit on me. I'm just a little worried that I might have to knit this sweater a lot to get it the way I like it. Crap! I won't be surprised if I don't finish it before it gets too warm outside.

Cool stash busting idea

I'm so going to make these Fetching hand warmers with the two balls of green Berocco Pure Merino that's been sitting in my stash of yarn for the past few months. I bought it to make a green scarf for myself but I think I'm over scarves right now and feel like making something different. These shouldn't take long to make, maybe a day or two. Then I can wear them when I attend the first A's home game next month...it's gonna be chilly out there in the stands!!!

And we have sleeves!!!

Two days ago:
WOOOOOO!!! That was scary getting the stitches on scrap yarn to separate the sleeves. I didn't want to screw it up when I've been doing so well on it. I tried it on to check if the sleeves were up too high and they weren't. I'm concerned that this sweater might be a size too big though and I was so worried it would be too fitted. Oh well, lesson learned. At least there will be room for layering. It'll be a nice sweater to wear keep me warm at the A's games (perfect color too!). Ok...now on with knitting the body. It feels like I'm taking forever to finish this. I just want to wear it already!

Today:
It's progressing slowly. Finally got to the torso part. I'm still iffy about the size. It feels really "roomy".
